"Overworked!" follows Hoss, a horse moving to the big city of Foxdale. A city known for opportunity, love, and demons. After losing his funds in a phishing accident, A job search leads him to Kenji Handy, a local handyman business. Join Hoss as he meets new friends, foes, and uncovers the mystery of his missing bank account!
Overworked is a furry, adult, visual novel-style point-and-click mystery where time is of the essence. Will you spend time with the locals? Or work towards the main story's goal?
Overworked works with a "Calendar System" where some actions will advance the time of day. The story of "Overworked" is linear, but the choices Hoss can make throughout can influence his relationships with the various inhabitants of Foxdale.
There are currently six planned dateable characters that are interactable throughout the game's overarching story.

We created this game using the Godot Engine and we embedded the game content into the final EXE that is produced. That's why you only see a single EXE file in the download. We made this decision as it was easier to package and distribute rather than a large zip with tons of files in it.
Embedding the PCK does have advantages, but also can be falsely identified as a virus. Gamers can find more information here: https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/45563

Install instructions
Windows - Simply unzip and run the application.
Android - Unzip and install the APK file.
MacOS - Unzip and run the .app file - You may get prompted about the app being unsigned / unlicensed depending on your system settings. Unfortunately our team doesn't have a budget for Apple Developer licensing and in our testing the app seemed to work just fine without it.
TO workaround it: Newer Mac OS versions require you go to the system settings -> privacy & security and choose "allow apps from App Store and know developers" . When an unsigned app is loaded you go back to the privacy and security and select load app anyway and then say yes and put your password in.
Older versions of Mac OS -> right click load app or option click load app.

Linux - Unzip and run the file.
SteamDeck - We've found the best results with using the Windows version running with Proton9. You can use the touch screen for pretty much everything you need in game.

I can't give the ticket to the seagull, it just repeats dialogue. Also, sometimes when I talk to an NPC but skip what they say, the arrows to move disappear and I'm stuck on the same room until I quit the game and open it again

As I am not a native English speaker, I used a translator to write this. There are bugs throughout the game where dialogue fails to progress. This occurs particularly when reloading the game or using the 'skip' function. Also, the arrows needed to navigate within the game are frequently missing. This game has significant potential. However, I believe the bugs I’ve shown are critical and hinder game progression. + Is 'UBEAR' not a supported feature yet? It only displays the map and doesn't offer any navigation functionality.

This game is AMAZING!!! there's a bit of soft locking bugs like the ui not showing up so I couldn't leave the room, or when I talk to someone their sprite shows up but not the text. But other than that, I FRICKING LOVE IT!!!. I am a pretty big fan of all these bulges everywhere heheheh... PLEASE more Matt... I love my chubby otter men!!!

This game actually very immersive and detailed! Would love to actually date them all— even that Oliver lifeguard guy, and Jay as well like— there's so many fine shyts (not forcing but I'm hoping there'd be more Dalton and Ivan scenes!)

Game softlocked. I went to beach, saw the scene where you need to get food for the seagull. Got him his food. The demon guy said to come back later for the zlorp. I left, passed time, came back. Demon guy said to check the stall for zlorp. But I cannot check the stall. Clicking stall does nothing. And also the movement arrows disappeared. So I cannot leave the screen. Cannot do anything. Hoss trapped on the beach for all eternity. SadI save the game and re-load the game to try to refresh it. Arrow button appears now, but clicking it does nothing. Hoss still trapped on the beach :(
